What to Expect During the Car Shipping Process

Shipping your car is a straightforward process, but it’s important to know what to expect at each
step. Here’s an overview of the typical car shipping journey:

1. Research and Choose a Carrier
Start by researching reputable car shipping companies. Look for carriers with positive
reviews, proper licensing, and experience handling the type of vehicle you need to ship.

2. Get a Quote
Request quotes from multiple carriers to compare prices and services. Be sure to
provide accurate information about your vehicle, including its size, condition, and pickup
and drop-off locations, to get an accurate estimate.

3. Prepare Your Car
Before shipping, clean your car and document its condition with photos. Remove
personal items and disable any alarms. Make sure your car is in good working order, as
some carriers may require it to be operable for loading and unloading.

4. Pick-Up and Delivery
On the day of pick-up, the driver will inspect your vehicle and note its condition. You’ll
sign a Bill of Lading, which serves as a contract and receipt for the vehicle. During
transit, you can typically track your vehicle’s progress. Upon delivery, inspect your car
again and compare it to the condition report to ensure everything is in order.
